Marcin Bulka has emerged as Barça's surprise option to reinforce their goalkeeping next summer. Pini Zahavi would be the key to the operation
FC Barcelona's goalkeeping has seen a couple of forced changes this season. After Ter Stegen's long-term injury, Iñaki Peña took over the Blaugrana goal, but the Catalans decided to sign Wojciech Szczesny to reinforce the position. The Pole signed until June 2025, and unless he performs excellently and the goalkeeper wants to remain active despite having retired, both parties are clear that the contract will come to an end next summer.
For this reason, the sporting management has reportedly made the decision to sign a goalkeeper who has a future, with Marcin Bulka being the main candidate today. The Nice player, curiously, has taken over from Szczesny in the Polish national team, and at 25 years old he is one of the goalkeepers with the greatest progress on the continent.
Bulka, who has established himself as a key player in the French side in recent years, was on trial at Barça before signing for Chelsea, but the club failed to reach an agreement with the player and he headed to London. According to 'SPORT', his profile is very popular in Barcelona, having a good command of the game with his feet and being a footballer with significant projection.
An economically accessible operation
Bulka's alternative is also viewed favorably by the financial area of the club, since at the end of the season he will have only one year left on his contract and, as of today, he has not signed his renewal with Nice. In addition, his agent, Pini Zahavi, who has a very good relationship with Barça and Joan Laporta, believes that Bulka should make the jump to a top-level team and the Catalans are presented as a more than attractive option to fight for a long-term position with Ter Stegen.
Beyond this, in the offices of the Spotify Camp Nou they consider that the goal is well covered for this season and they will evaluate the performance of the two goalkeepers, as well as waiting for the recovery of an undisputed 'MATS' in recent years.
However, if Szczesny ends up leaving, everything points to the Blaugranas incorporating a young goalkeeper, whose signing does not require a large investment and who accepts the role of competing with Marc-André. Conditions that Bulka's alternative meets, which is why the Catalan entity has begun to follow him closely for the next transfer market.
