FC Barcelona is keeping a close eye on the possibility of cashing in on Ángel Alarcón. Recent rumors suggest that the 20-year-old forward is very close to returning to LaLiga

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Ángel Alarcón's stint in Portugal could be much shorter than expected. The former FC Barcelona youth player, now a player for Porto, has two very interesting options to return to Spain in the upcoming winter transfer market, a move that could benefit the club's finances.

The player from Castelldefels arrived for free to the 'Dragons' last August, but the club retained 50% of any future sale. So far, he has scored 3 goals and provided 1 assist in 9 matches (687 minutes) with Porto's reserve team, and according to the Portuguese newspaper 'Record', two LaLiga teams are very interested in signing him in the upcoming winter market.

Mallorca and Getafe, on the hunt for Ángel Alarcón

The two teams mentioned by the Portuguese newspaper are Mallorca and Getafe, both with completely opposite realities in the Spanish league. The Balearic team is fifth with 27 points and will travel to Saudi Arabia in January to compete in the semifinals of the Spanish Supercup against Real Madrid. The 'azulones', on the other hand, remain in the relegation zone, just two points away from the drop.

Despite Ángel Alarcón's good performance in the Portuguese second division, coach Vitor Bruno does not consider him for the first team, which leaves the management uncertain whether to accept a simple loan or seek a transfer for the 20-year-old forward, whose contract expires on June 30. The player joined La Masia in 2018 and spent six years in the youth ranks of the azulgrana team.

With Barça Atlètic, he played 18 matches last season, scoring a couple of goals. Additionally, he made his debut with the first team under Xavi Hernández (he had 32 minutes spread over 4 league matches and 1 cup match). For the player from Castelldefels, the chance to compete for a starting position in a LaLiga team looks ideal, while Barça hopes to bring in some money to their coffers.
