FC Barcelona does not lose sight of Viktor Gyökeres, the fashion forward in Portuguese football. The Swede has 8 goals in 6 league games with Sporting CP and Barça does not rule out offering an exchange to those from Lisbon for his transfer in 2025
Viktor Gyökeres continues to deserve to be considered the 'new Haaland' of European football. The 26-year-old forward has had a devastating start to the season with Sporting CP, scoring 8 goals and 3 assists in 6 games, in addition to extending his spectacular streak with Sueza, scoring 3 goals in the duels against Azerbaijan and Estonia (double). His great moment has put him in the orbit of several 'greats', including FC Barcelona.
And, beyond the very high price that the Portuguese team asks to let their star go, Can Barça does not rule out offering an exchange for one of the players most valued by the board to replace Robert Lewandowski in the future. The latest information points to Ferran Torres as a possible bargaining chip for the Swedish attacker, whose contract ends in 2028 and, at the moment, is listed for around 65 million euros on Transfermarkt.
Ruben Amorim's men signed Gyökeres in 2023 for 24 'kilos', from English club Coventry City. In total, the man from Stockholm has 51 goals and 18 assists in 56 games with Sporting, with numbers that even surpass those of Erling Haaland so far in 2024. Viktor has 26 goals, three more than Erling (22, with four games less). Last season he scored 40 points in 48 games.
Ferran Torres would be key in the signing of the 'new Haaland'
In principle, Foiós would be a piece highly valued by the group directed by Ruben Amorim. The 'Shark' did not have a good start to the League with Barça, but he left a good feeling with Spain in the last break, scoring a goal. With a contract until 2027, the Valencian should leave between 30 and 40 'kilos' in cash, but including him as part of an operation seems like a more feasible way to facilitate his exit.
The '7' added 11 goals and 4 assists in 42 games last season, being Barça's second top scorer along with Fermín López, behind Robert Lewandowski (29). Ferran has no intention of leaving, but the lack of prominence and the possible interest of a 'top' team could change his mind in 2025. For now, Sporting CP remains firmly on its way to retaining the title in the Portuguese league, in addition to bet strongly on transcending Europe. Viktor Gyökeres' scoring streak will undoubtedly be his main weapon to fight in Europe in 2024/25.
