FC Barcelona could soon lose two of its promising talents of the Masia: Unai Hernández and Pau Prim, who could join Saudi Arabia football
It is no secret that FC Barcelona arguably has one of the best, if not the best, international football academies at La Masia. It is not surprising, therefore, that several teams are interested in acquiring the services of some of the young 'culé gems' who have not even had the opportunity to officially debut with the first team.
Recently, it has been reported that a couple of the best players currently in the Blaugrana academy have been targeted by a growing environment due to the figures they are recruiting. Additionally, they are making significant financial investments: Saudi Arabia.
The players in question are the versatile 20-year-old midfielder, Unai Hernández; and the 18-year-old midfielder, Pau Prim. Two assets of FC Barcelona currently playing for Barça Atlètic, but there have been extensive discussions that they could be heading towards clubs in Saudi Arabia, with one more strongly linked than the other.
Unai Hernández is close to signing for Al-Ittihad
On one hand, Unai Hernández, who has been called up to the first team a few times but has not officially debuted, is reportedly close to joining Al-Ittihad with Karim Benzema. In fact, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Arab team has submitted a formal transfer proposal ranging between 4 and 5 million euros.
It is emphasized that negotiations are advanced and it is not ruled out that an agreement will be reached soon, meaning that Barcelona would receive a small compensation for a player whose contract expires on June 30.
Pau Prim could sign for Al-Qadsiah
Regarding Pau Prim, according to the 'SPORT' media outlet, it has been reported that the Barcelona native, who has also been called up to the first team without debuting, is in talks to join a Middle Eastern club. This move would happen once the season with Barça Atlètic concludes.
One of the teams apparently interested in the Catalan midfielder is Al-Qadsiah, managed by Michel Sánchez and with players like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nacho Fernández in their squad. Taking advantage of Pau Prim's contract expiring on June 30 and the stalled renewal process, the Arab side could make a move for him, tempting him with a financially lucrative offer.
