Dusan Vlahovic's days at Juventus are numbered. The Serbian is set to leave for a low price, very attractive for FC Barcelona and other big clubs
Dusan Vlahovic's cycle at Juventus is very close to ending. The forward is under contract until June 2026 and this season has scored 14 goals and provided 2 assists in 34 matches, modest numbers, but acceptable for a team with serious attacking problems. Despite this, the financial urgencies of the Turin club force the management to part ways with some of their 'heavyweights', including the '9'.
According to 'GiveMeSport', the 'Old Lady' would be willing to sell the Serbian for a figure close to 40 million euros, 20 'kilos' less than his current market value and less than half of what Juve paid Fiorentina for his transfer in 2022. Dusan cost 83.5M €, becoming the fourth most expensive signing in 'bianconeri' history. Only Cristiano Ronaldo (117), Gonzalo Higuaín (90), and Matthijs de Ligt (85.5) cost more than the '9'.
However, Juve understands the need to part with their main scorer to renew a squad that has had a very disappointing performance this season under the orders of Thiago Motta. The team bid farewell to the possibility of winning anything in February with eliminations in the Champions League ('play-off' against PSV) and Coppa Italia (quarter-finals against Empoli), and in Serie A, they could even miss out on Champions League spots.
Barça, with Few Options to Bid for Dusan Vlahovic
Meanwhile, FC Barcelona, one of the clubs that has been mentioned as a possible destination for Vlahovic next summer, is staying out of any negotiations with Juventus, at least for now. The Turin club tried to take Ronald Araujo in January and now they are looking to find a place for the Serbian in Catalonia, aware of the culé interest in pursuing another '9' capable of relieving Robert Lewandowski in the medium and long term.
Both Deco and Hansi Flick are considering the possibility of signing another 'killer' this summer, but the profile of Dusan, along with the high cost of his salary (19.4 million gross per year), does not convince a Barcelona board that also prioritizes incorporating a left winger. In any case, Vlahovic's future is unlikely to be resolved before August, as several clubs are keeping an eye on his future, but are willing to play with the financial urgencies of a Juve in trouble.
