The future of Joshua Kimmich remains a mystery for Bayern Munich. The midfielder is now rumored as a possible reinforcement for PSG and Arsenal, although the Bavarians are still considering renewing his contract.
Joshua Kimmich could try his luck in France or England next season. Although Bayern Munich keeps the possibility of renewing his contract until 2029 open, the player from Rottweil, one of the pivots discarded by FC Barcelona for next summer, has at least two 'heavyweights' behind him for the 2025/26 season. This factor has allowed the midfielder to stall negotiations with the Bavarians, given the possibility of negotiating a much more lucrative contract.
Recent reports indicate the interest of Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal in the 30-year-old player. Both clubs have a well-defined base for their midfield, but the possibility of acquiring Kimmich 'for free' is undoubtedly very tempting. The German international has also been mentioned as an alternative for Real Madrid, but so far there has been no movement from Florentino Pérez.
Kimmich Continues to Play Hard to Get with Bayern
"As has been said and confirmed many times, the conversations have been and continue to be respectful and evaluative. However, everyone feels that a decision should be made soon," commented Bayern's football director, Max Eberl, to 'BILD' regarding the future of the '6'. Initially, the management seems resigned to the captain's departure, although the midfielder still gives no clues about his future.
"There are other clubs playing a role in my renewal. Which clubs? I’m not going to say," Joshua told 'Sky Sports' after the Champions League thrashing against Leverkusen. However, the player from Rottweil also left the door open for a possible renewal with Bayern soon. "There will be time to make a decision, I don’t know if between these two matches or before the international break," the German international clarified.
