Hansi Flick is clear about what should be the priority for Barça this summer. The German has asked the club to sign a full-back capable of playing on both sides
Hansi Flick has made it clear on several occasions that he is more than satisfied with the performance of his squad this season, especially offensively. However, the German believes that his defense can improve, which is why he has requested the sports management of FC Barcelona to bring in a top-level full-back who can perform well on both flanks, and the club will do everything possible to satisfy the coach.
Last summer, the azulgrana entity tried to strengthen the squad with a right-back, but the lack of salary cap prevented the culés from proceeding with the operation. At that time, options like Marc Pubill or the return of Joao Cancelo were on the table, and although the signing of the Portuguese is ruled out as of today, the player from Almería remains on the blaugrana radar, as well as other players like Andrei Ratiu and Daniel Muñoz.
Barça sets the roadmap for the summer
According to 'SPORT', Flick believes that his team suffered too much on the flanks against Atlético de Madrid, and although he will try to correct these flaws, he understands that the addition of a specialist would give an extra boost to the squad, as Héctor Fort and Gerard Martín have shown they need more experience in big scenarios. Despite this, the coach will not demand this signing, but he has put it on the table of the sports management for them to consider.
Thus, at Can Barça, they are beginning to have a clear roadmap for next summer. For several months, Deco and his staff have been working on planning the squad for the next season, and besides the full-back requested by Flick, they prioritize the arrival of a left winger and, if possible, a center forward.
Names like Luis Díaz, Rafael Leão, Darwin Núñez, and Alexander Isak are part of the club's list of potential signings, where, once back under the 1:1 rule, they are preparing for a busy summer transfer window in terms of ins and outs, as long as the salary margin allows it.
