FC Barcelona seems to be in need of resorting to the signing of Federico Chiesa, since the Italian, in addition to representing a 'low cost' option and being very attractive from a sporting point of view, seems to be willing to make some efforts so that the transaction is completed successfully
The FC Barcelona seems to have found in Federico Chiesa a real bargain in the market to reinforce their left wing. Why? The forward, at just 26 years old, would be available for a relatively low price from Juventus, around €15M. This circumstance makes him a very attractive signing opportunity for the Catalan team, which apparently plans to submit an initial offer to secure the Italian player.
At this point, the Genoese, who seems tempted to join the Blaugrana this summer, would be willing to collaborate with the team to facilitate the success of this transaction. As suggested by the Italian newspaper 'La Repubblica', the former Fiorentina player would have no issues in reducing his wage demands in order to fit properly into the salary structure of the Catalan squad.
The cited source indicates that Enrico's son would only require a contract of two plus two or three seasons, and would not have problems accepting a salary of €4.5M per year. It should be noted that he currently earns around six 'kilos' net at Juventus, so this would represent a significant reduction in his earnings. If he were to sign for Barça, he would be positioned in the middle range of the salary scale, alongside players like Raphinha (€6M net), Ferran Torres (€4.8M), Pedri González, and Iñigo Martínez (€4.5M).
Federico Chiesa, a more viable option than Rafa Leão?
Now, it remains to be seen how FC Barcelona manages this operation, as although the primary interest in terms of signings appears to have shifted towards the possibility of signing Rafael Leão, the reality is that this transfer seems to be economically unfeasible. In this sense, the potential signing of Federico Chiesa appears to be closer and if the player prioritizes joining Barcelona this summer, negotiations could be less complicated for the Blaugrana. Even though they seem to be leading in this operation, Barcelona must be wary of the interest from clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea. The Inter could even try to secure his services, despite the possibility of presenting a very attractive offer to weaken a direct rival like Juventus.
The main challenge lies in determining whether Barcelona will have enough salary space to finalize this operation. The Barcelona team has faced difficulties so far in registering new players. For instance, Dani Olmo has not yet been registered, and more departures will be needed to acquire the winger. Will the Catalan club be able to secure them in time?
