Ibrahima Konaté is one of the center-backs on Real Madrid's radar. In this regard, the Liverpool defender has left the door open to negotiate with 'La Casa Blanca' and PSG, the two teams most interested in him.
Real Madrid seems serious about Ibrahima Konaté next summer. The Liverpool center-back has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League, scoring a couple of goals and providing assists in 27 matches (2,085 minutes) this season. Although he still has a contract with the 'reds' until 2026, the Parisian defender is aware of Real Madrid's interest, as well as that of the most powerful team from his hometown, Paris Saint-Germain. In this regard, the '5' made it clear that, for now, he is not closing the door on any offer.
"Hearing from great clubs like these interested in me is very flattering. Right now I am focusing on this season to win everything. After that, regarding my contractual situation, I will let my agents handle it", commented the 25-year-old defender in an interview with 'Téléfoot'. The French international is valued at 50 million euros on Transfermarkt, but both Parisian and 'merengues' aim to take advantage of his contractual situation to sign him at a lower price.
Madrid's plan aims to bring in two defenders from Liverpool this summer
In this sense, Madrid's plan aims to convince Konaté to rule out renewing with Liverpool, the club he joined in 2021 from RB Leipzig, to negotiate a transfer in the range of 30-35 million euros. Additionally, 'La Casa Blanca' insists on going for Trent Alexander-Arnold, one of the key figures of the 'reds' whose contract expires on June 30, and so far seems far from resolving his renewal.
The summer market forces Florentino Pérez to go for at least one center-back and one right-back, as the injuries of Dani Carvajal, Éder Militao, and David Alaba have highlighted the poor sports planning of the 'merengues' in a season where, despite Alaba's issues and the departure of Nacho Fernández, the board was content with recovering a Jesús Vallejo who has never been part of Carlo Ancelotti's plans.
The overload of minutes for Antonio Rüdiger took its toll on the German, while the experiment with Aurélien Tchouaméni as a center-back has been disastrous, as has Lucas Vázquez's performance on the flank. The only positive note in defense for the white team has been the emergence of Raúl Asencio (22 years old), who unexpectedly came up from the youth academy due to multiple injury absences.
