Iñaki Peña could continue in LaLiga: Celta accelerates his signing.

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Iñaki Peña is one foot and a half out of FC Barcelona. Although his future at the club is not entirely clear, the outlook for the Alicante native in the Catalan city is far from encouraging. The azulgrana entity and Wojciech Szczesny are getting closer to signing the renewal of the Polish player for one more season, and with the imminent return of Marc-André Ter Stegen, the '25' would be left without a place in the culé goal.

In fact, until a couple of months ago, the Catalans' intention was to start negotiations with Peña to extend his current contract, which expires in 2026, before the end of the season. However, the conversations froze after 'Tek's' 'surpass' in goal, so it seems that the academy player will have to look for a new destination next summer to avoid halting his progress at 26 years old.

In this sense, several clubs would be closely following Iñaki's situation, and although Galatasaray was presented as an attractive option, it would be Celta that would be insisting on signing him. According to 'Faro de Vigo', the Vigo team is looking for a goalkeeper because it seems they will part ways with their current starting keeper, Vicente Guaita, at the end of the season, and the culé academy player would be one of their priorities as his experience in LaLiga is highly valued at Balaídos.

Betis seeks to hinder Peña's signing by Celta

The relationship between the celeste team and the Catalans is good, and in the past, some beneficial operations for both teams have already taken place, such as the loans of Óscar Mingueza and Rafinha Alcántara, among others. This factor could be key to tipping the balance in favor of the Galicians, although the presence of Betis in the negotiations could complicate the operation.

Indeed, from Benito Villamarín, they are also tracking the Alicante native, and at Can Barça, they would give priority if the goalkeeper prefers to continue his career in Seville. Culés and verdiblancos would have agreed on a series of conditions after the sale of Vitor Roque, and the blaugrana club will surely carry out some operation this summer, as the Andalusians have Pau Víctor and some academy players from the reserve team on their agenda.

In the offices of Spotify Camp Nou, they will listen to financial offers for Peña, but they do not rule out his departure for free as long as they retain a percentage of the goalkeeper's sale. The 'bidding' for the goalkeeper continues, and both Celta and Betis will battle until the end to secure the deal.
