The future of Ferran Torres at Barça: How much will his departure cost?

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The interest of FC Barcelona in selling Ferran Torres lies in the need to generate significant income to strengthen their squad and balance their finances next summer. However, the good performance of the 'Shark' this 2025 with Hansi Flick's team raises doubts about how beneficial his departure could be, as the team would lose one of its goal scorers and the best impact player in the squad.

Looking ahead to the next summer market, Barça has set a minimum exit price for Ferran of 40 million euros. However, sources close to the club's management claim that the club could prioritize offers close to 50 million considering the performance leap of the '7' in the 2024-25 season, where he has already scored 14 goals (his peak in Barcelona).

In this sense, although the player has proven to be key in important moments, the competition in the team's attack is fierce and this prevents the forward from becoming an undisputed starter. Moreover, selling the 'Shark' could allow Barça to finance key signings, such as Nico Williams or Rafael Leao.

Barça's options to close a major sale with Ferran Torres this summer

So far, several Premier League teams have shown interest in signing Ferran Torres. Among them are:

  • Aston Villa: the team managed by Unai Emery is willing to pay more than 35 million euros for the player. Additionally, the Spanish coach would offer Ferran the opportunity to be an undisputed starter.
  • Manchester United: the team of Rúben Amorim is looking to strengthen their attack with a versatile player, and the Portuguese coach considers Ferran an ideal option. The offer from the 'red devils' would be around 40 million.
  • Liverpool: the 'red' team is interested in strengthening their right wing, especially if Mohamed Salah leaves the team. For Arne Slot's side, the profile of the 'Shark' would be ideal for that position, in addition to being a financially affordable reinforcement.

These teams value Ferran's experience in the Premier League, following his time at Manchester City, and his ability to play in various attacking positions. Moreover, the Valencian remains a young player (he turned 25 in February) with significant room for improvement in terms of effectiveness in the area.

However, the '7's' stance is clear regarding his future: to fulfill his contract with Barça (which ends in 2027) and stay as long as possible at the blue and garnet club, where he has always felt comfortable. Torres dreams of winning everything as a culé and marking a glorious era at a club where he has already won one League and two Supercopa de España.
