Is there danger for Barça? Sevilla joins the 'race' for Pau Víctor

FC Barcelona could have at least a couple of interesting offers on the table for Pau Víctor this month. The latest rumors indicate Sevilla's interest in the 23-year-old forward, one of the players pending registration in the blue and garnet team. Like Dani Olmo, the '18' has been left out of the culé squad since January 1, due to LaLiga's "no" regarding the documentation related to the sale of the VIP boxes at Spotify Camp Nou.

Until a few days ago, Real Betis was the club most interested in signing the player from San Cugat del Vallés. However, the other Andalusian club seems to have the same plans, which could lead to a Sevilla derby for the culé '18', as long as Barça decides to accept his departure. For Hansi Flick, the former captain of the blue and garnet reserve team is currently the second option in attack, behind Ferran Torres, but ahead of Ansu Fati.

However, Pau Víctor's future remains up in the air, waiting to resolve his registration for the second half of the season. For now, the forward cannot be loaned to any team, as established by article 158 of the General Regulations of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). Since he is not registered, the culé '18' cannot play in any official competition, unless he terminates his contract with Barça.

The 23-year-old player signed last summer for five seasons, until June 2029, but he can become a free agent according to what is stated in article 119 of the General Regulations of the RFEF, as well as in article 17 of the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players. For now, the player remains calm, awaiting his registration, but if the matter drags on too long, he will be fully entitled not only to dissociate from Barça but also to request compensation from the blue and garnet club.
