Jérémy Doku to Barça? The 'low cost' option everyone is talking about

FC Barcelona could find an interesting alternative for its attacking trio next summer in the Premier League. This is Jérémy Doku, a winger who was already on the Barça radar in 2023, after the departure of Ousmane Dembélé and in the last winter market, anticipating a possible early farewell to Manchester City. The 22-year-old forward has scored 6 goals and provided 7 assists in 25 matches (1,357 minutes) with the Manchester team, but he has lost importance in Pep Guardiola's plans.

Moreover, the Belgian has also been affected by the injury plague that has hit the 'citizens' in the 2024/25 season. Doku has missed 10 matches due to various physical issues and did not play a single minute in the Champions League 'playoff' against Real Madrid. In this sense, it is likely that City will look for a way out for him in the summer, as the presence of Omar Marmoush seems to definitively sentence him to be a substitute for the rest of the season.

With the 'sky blue' team, he has already won a Premier League, a Community Shield, and a Club World Cup, in addition to scoring 12 goals and providing 15 assists in 68 matches. With Rennes (his previous team), he also scored 12 goals, but in 92 appearances. Doku is a product of the Anderlecht academy and his net salary would not be a problem for Barça's finances, as he only earns 3 million net per year. However, the player from Borgerhout would only fit into Hansi Flick's plans if several departures occur from the squad next summer, including Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati, and Pau Víctor.
