Barça reportedly met with Jhon Durán's representative in the Catalan capital to express their interest in signing the forward

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Aside from the case of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, the return to the 1:1 rule has kept the offices of FC Barcelona busy in recent days. With the possibility of operating normally in the transfer market, the Blaugrana sports management has activated the machinery with the goal of securing the best possible reinforcements for the upcoming season.

One of the positions the club hopes to strengthen is the center of the attack, as Robert Lewandowski will enter the next season at 37 years old and in his last year of contract. Several names make up the 'casting' of strikers in the Catalan capital, where they have reportedly already made a move for one of the candidates.

It is Jhon Durán, a player from Aston Villa, whose agent was in Barcelona a couple of weeks ago to meet with executives of the Catalan entity. According to 'SPORT', the meeting took place to inform the representative of the team's interest in the Colombian and the player's willingness to wear the Blaugrana jersey.

Barça is not yet negotiating for Durán

The meeting between Deco and the 21-year-old player's agent was merely an initial contact, and no negotiations took place during the conversation. In fact, at that time, the culés were still not under the 1:1 rule, and their goal was to start 'monitoring' the main targets being handled in the offices of Spotify Camp Nou.

Durán, whose market value is 40 million euros, recently renewed with Aston Villa until June 2030. The scorer has begun to gain importance in the team managed by Unai Emery and is becoming increasingly significant, so if they decide to pursue his signing, Barça would have to pay a figure that would hardly drop below 60-70 million.
