Joshua Kimmich is reportedly keen to join Hansi Flick next summer. The German player is reportedly tempted by the idea of wearing the Blaugrana shirt from next summer, but Bayern will do everything possible to keep him at the Allianz Arena
The name Joshua Kimmich will once again resonate in the corridors of the Spotify Camp Nou during the next transfer market. The midfielder was one of the main candidates to reinforce the FC Barcelona midfield last summer, but the club's financial problems, added to the 'irruption' of players such as Marc Casadó or Marc Bernal, ended up ruling out his operation. However, the German's contract with Bayern Munich expires in 2025, and everything indicates that the Catalan team could try to incorporate him again.
Bojan Krkic senior, former member of the 'scouting' department of the Barcelona club and father of the current coordinator of the football area, has spoken about this in an interview on the 'Què t,hi jugues' program on SER Catalunya. In his speech, the Serbian stated categorically that "Joshua Kimmich is very keen to come to Barça", with Hansi Flick being one of the keys to his operation.
Flick's project, attractive to big names
And in Krkic's opinion, in view of the next transfer windows, "the coach plays an important role and Barça has all the numbers to sign good players because of the coach it has, recognised as Hansi Flick". Bojan continued his 'waterfall' of praise towards Flick stating that he is "a silent leader" who is managing to make his Barça "give off enthusiasm".
According to the former employee of the club, the name of Barça continues to be a very heavy one when it comes to negotiating possible signings. "Great German and French footballers, when you ask where they want to play, generally say Barça", he said. "Madrid also comes up, but in general the footballer wants to play for Barça, for its history, for the club, for its greatness, and they don't get into the financial problems," he said.
Bayern refuse to let him go
Beyond all this, the reality is that, in order to get hold of Kimmich, the Catalans will have to 'fight' with a Bayern that refuses to part with one of its stars. This was hinted at by the club's president, Herbert Hainer, in a conversation with 'Sky', where he made it clear that they will do everything possible to renew his contract. "He is someone who always goes forward, who always wants to give the best of himself, even if it doesn't always work out, but who does everything possible to do everything for the team. I would be happy if he finished his career at FC Bayern. But not next year, but many, many years later," he confessed, making it clear that Barça has a tough mission ahead of them.
