LaLiga reported that it will not authorize the sale of Vitor Roque to Palmeiras due to bureaucratic issues. Barça is working with FIFA to find a solution
The Vitor Roque saga has taken an unexpected turn at the last moment. When it seemed that the signing of the Brazilian by Palmeiras would be finalized in the coming days, LaLiga would have communicated to FC Barcelona and the São Paulo team that it would not authorize the transfer due to bureaucratic issues.
This was reported by 'Jijantes', where they stated that, according to the competition regulations, 'Tigrinho' would have to terminate his loan with Betis, which expires on June 30, and then be re-registered by the Catalan entity. An unfeasible operation, since the transfer window is closed in Spain and the verdiblancos cannot 'return' the player to the City of Barcelona.
Additionally, also due to legal issues of the LaLiga protocol, the Andalusian club cannot send the forward to Palmeiras on loan since he is registered in the competition as a loaned player. The scenario was discouraging, and the agreement that both Barça and the player himself had reached seemed to be going overboard. However, from the offices of Spotify Camp Nou, they are working on a solution.
Barça's plan to transfer Vitor Roque to Palmeiras
According to the newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo', the blaugrana entity has rolled up its sleeves to find a way to successfully carry out the operation of Roque, this time through FIFA. The club's legal representatives and the player's agents have found a possible 'gray area' in sports jurisprudence through which the Catalans could recover the forward right now without having to register him in LaLiga and transfer him directly to Palmeiras.
Similarly, Barça could have the alternative of leaving 'Tigrinho' on loan at Benito Villamarín until the end of the season and having 'verdao' sign him in the extra window that FIFA will grant to clubs participating in the 2025 Club World Cup, which will open from June 1 to 10. However, the culés prefer to close the deal as soon as possible and avoid it falling through in the future.
The blaugrana offices are 'on fire', but optimism regarding Roque's return to the Brasileirao remains. If confirmed, the Catalans will receive 25 million euros for 80% of the player's economic rights, recovering what was invested in his signing from Athlético Paranense and gaining salary margin to formalize the renewals of Iñigo Martínez and Lamine Yamal. Friday the 28th, the day the market closes in Brazil, is the deadline.
