The future of Lamine Yamal at FC Barcelona is completely secured. This was confirmed by his agent, Jorge Mendes, after the Golden Boy 2024 gala, an event held in Turin by the Italian newspaper 'Tuttosport' which the Barça youth player could not attend due to his right ankle injury. However, the player had already received the award over the weekend and was able to present it to the fans in Montjuïc on Sunday.
"Of course he is going to renew with Barça, Lamine is from Barça and he will sign a new contract", commented the renowned Portuguese agent after the Golden Boy award ceremony. According to the agreement between the parties, the winger's link with the blue and garnet team will extend until 2031 once the player from Mataró turns 18 in July of the coming year.
Barça will not jeopardize Lamine Yamal's future
Additionally, the player's salary will undergo a significant adjustment, in accordance with his projection and importance within the Barça squad. Regarding the recent injury of the '19', Mendes also expressed confidence that his client "will recover quickly". Initially, the club anticipates a recovery period of 3 to 4 weeks for the forward, meaning he will miss at least three matches (one in La Liga, one in the Cup, and one in the Spanish Supercup).
However, Barça will not take risks with Yamal, forcing his return for a hypothetical Supercup final. The player from Rocafonda has already suffered a similar injury this season and the club will respect the recovery timelines established by the Barça doctors. Looking to the future, the management is not willing, by any means, to jeopardize their great star, and regarding his contractual situation, everything is agreed upon with his agent and family. Lamine will continue to be the flagbearer of the new Barça sports project for many more years, where both parties aspire to achieve another golden era.
