This week we explained in FCBN that FC Barcelona had made a second offer for Dani Olmo and was waiting for Leipzig's response. Barça wants to close the deal for the player from Terrassa as soon as possible and the Barça sporting director, Deco, sent a second proposal to the German team, which knows that the midfielder wants to leave this summer.
However, Leipzig did not want to be too flexible, rejecting even the first offer, which was 40 million euros fixed plus another 20 in variables. That proposal was not accepted by the German team, which even understood that fixed amount as insufficient for the Catalan team to need a response, since it was clear that at no time did it meet their wishes.
The Leipzig seems to follow firm with his posture
That is why in this second deal the Catalan club has raised the fixed amount to try to please RB Leipzig, although 'Sport' reported on Thursday that Barça will soon receive a new "no" from the Teutons. The information indicates that in Germany they also do not accept the almost 50 million fixed plus about 15 in variables that Barça has put on the table.
Despite this, the Catalan club is confident that there may be significant progress in the next few days, remembering that a large part of the sporting management is in the United States as part of the team's pre-season tour, although Deco does remain in Europe working on the different operations. However, the main reasons that lead Leipzig to say "no" again are both the global amount of the operation and the payment terms.
The Barcelona payment plan, the big problem of the operation
The Germans insist that they want at least 55 million guaranteed, although what is further away from the green light are the payment instalments proposed by Barça. The Catalan club believe that 50 million fixed plus 10-15 variable could end up being enough, but the big stumbling block is the timing of the payment of those 50 million, which the Catalan team would try to do in a period of no less than two years, something that clashes with Leipzig, who would like to receive him before the next summer market arrives.
