Federico Chiesa remains waiting for a formal offer from FC Barcelona before the closing of the summer market. Without a place at Juventus, the 26-year-old player hopes to sign for a Barça that prioritizes incorporating another forward
Federico Chiesa's future seems closer to FC Barcelona as the days go by. Although there is barely less than a week left until the closing of the summer market, the one from Genoa remains attentive to his options of landing in Catalonia, since the Barça team will soon have the necessary financial margin to incorporate another striker, once the negotiations are finalized. departures of Mika Faye, Vitor Roque and Clément Lenglet.
According to the latest information, the Juventus player is willing to lower his salary to play for Barça. In principle, the 26-year-old winger would earn around 4 million euros net per season, 1 million euros of what he earned last year in Turin. The Italian international does not count in Thiago Motta's plans and, with only one year left on his contract, he aims to leave for an amount close to 15 'kilos'.
Barça and Juventus, 'forced' to reach an understanding over the transfer of Chiesa
However, Barça will try to lower the cost of the operation to around €10-12M net, an amount similar to what they will earn from the sale of Faye. The club also does not rule out other last-minute departures, among them that of Eric García, with the aim of closing the registration of Dani Olmo and attacking a couple of operations, with the priority of incorporating another striker and, perhaps, a full-back before midnight on August 31.
Meanwhile, Juventus awaits a formal offer for Chiesa, one of the departures that, in turn, will allow the 'Vecchia Signora' to incorporate another reinforcement this week. Federico has scored 32 goals and 23 assists in 131 official matches with the club since his arrival in October 2020. Until a couple of years ago, the one from Genoa was considered a 'franchise player', but his physical problems and the financial problems of the 'bianconeri' team precipitated his departure. After overcoming injuries, the winger seems ready to make the leap to another 'big', with the aim of resuming the upward trend that his career had taken in 2021 after winning the Euro Cup.
