Luis Enrique will try to sign one of the figures of FC Barcelona next summer at Paris Saint-Germain. The Asturian would have already contacted Pablo Gavi's entourage
The future of Pablo Páez Gavira, Gavi, may take an unexpected turn in the summer of 2025. The 20-year-old midfielder has a contract until 2026 and, although the FC Barcelona board hopes to resolve his renewal shortly, the Andalusian will have an offer difficult to reject at the end of 2024/25.
The latest information indicates Paris Saint-Germain's interest in the '6' culé, at the request of Luis Enrique who would be 'crazy' to take him to the Parc des Princes. The Asturian did not hesitate to give the number '9' to the midfielder during the World Cup, lining him up on several occasions as a winger/midfielder to complement La Roja's offensive trident.
In principle, 'Lucho' himself would have already started contacts with Gavi's entourage and his agent, Iván de la Peña, with whom he maintains an excellent relationship. The Spanish coach knows very well the tough competition for a place in the Barça midfield and will try to convince him to move to Paris, where he would have a much better chance of being undisputed.
Gavi hopes to regain his prominence in Barcelona before speaking with PSG
To do this, yes, the one from Los Palacios and Villafranca must stay healthy and regain the competitive rhythm, something that will take several more weeks. Hansi Flick has been very careful with the management of the Andalusian's minutes and, so far, has barely given him 48' of action spread over six appearances. Against Red Star (22') it was the only match in which he entered before the 83rd minute.
In that sense, the lack of prominence in the second section of 2024/25 could lead Gavi to evaluate offers for the future. Pedri González and Marc Casadó have been doing a great job in the midfield, while players like Fermín López and Dani Olmo have been in charge of completing a very offensive scheme that has the top three (Lamine, Raphinha and Lewandowski) as indisputable.
However, the Andalusian will not make hasty decisions, since he knows very well that his recovery process has not yet ended. Likewise, the culé board will soon let the '6' know that they have him in the long term with a renewal at the level of his hierarchy within the team. Despite his youth, the midfielder has already accumulated 117 appearances with the first team (7 goals and 14 assists).
