Manchester United and Bayern Munich closed a double transfer this Tuesday that leaves both parties very satisfied in sporting and financial terms. The team led by Erik ten Hag acquired the services of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, two players that the Dutch coach had already coached at Ajax, where thanks to their good performance they aroused the interest of several big players, including FC Barcelona. . The operation began with the sale of the plant in exchange for 45 million fixed euros and an extra 5 million euros in variables.

Hours later, the clubs included Mazraoui in the 'package'. The full-back will wear the Red Devils shirt in exchange for 15 net kilos plus another €5M in variables, with which the operation can reach €70M. The Bavarians had paid €67M to Juventus for De Ligt in 2022, while Noussair arrived in Munich at 'zero cost' after ending his contract with Ajax. In this way, the club avoids losing money with the departure of two players who did not perform at the expected level in Germany.

Erik ten Hag adds two more pieces to his new 'Ajax'

In that sense, Ten Hag hopes to recover the best version of both in England, since they are relatively young players. The Dutch center-back turned 25 on August 12, while the Moroccan will turn 27 in November. With the arrival of both defenders, the United coach maintains his commitment to recover his trusted men at Ajax. In total, seven former players of the Amsterdam team have passed through Manchester since the arrival of the tulip coach, including Donny van de Beek, today at Girona.

Both De Ligt and Mazraoui signed for five seasons, until June 2029. The central defender made the leap to the elite in 2018/19 under the orders of Ten Hag, signing for Juve in exchange for 85.5 'kilos' in a summer where Barça preferred to bet on Frenkie de Jong. The Moroccan international, for his part, remained in Amsterdam until 2022, the year in which Erik joined the United bench. For the Red Devils, the objective is clear: fight for the Premier League title and try to return to the Champions League in 2025.
