Manchester United will go all out for Ronald Araujo in the upcoming summer transfer market. FC Barcelona prioritizes keeping the '4' in their squad, but will not close the door to his departure

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Ronald Araujo remains one of the most sought-after center-backs in the Premier League. In addition to the well-known interest from Liverpool in the FC Barcelona defender, Manchester United is also willing to fully enter the bidding for the 25-year-old player, who renewed last month with the Catalan club until June 2031, but reserving the possibility to negotiate his departure in any of the upcoming markets.

According to the English portal 'CaughtOffside', United is willing to go all out to sign the '4' from Barcelona next summer. The physical problems of Lisandro Martínez (Argentina) and the adaptation issues of Leny Yoro (France) in their first season lead Rúben Amorim to request the signing of a 'top' center-back, and the Uruguayan international would be the choice of the Portuguese coach, who since his arrival in England has found a team that is both mentally and physically shattered.

Last week, against Tottenham (loss 1-0), the 'red devils' had up to seven absences due to injuries and suspensions. In this sense, a very active summer market is expected at Old Trafford. With Araujo, the club would even be willing to pay more than the amount stipulated by Barça as a release clause for next summer (65 million euros), an amount previously agreed upon with the defender himself.

The offer with which United would seek to sign Ronald Araujo in July

Initially, United would be willing to put up to 100 million euros net on the table to sign Ronald, a figure higher than the 80 'million' that Bayern Munich was willing to pay at one point to acquire the 25-year-old defender. In January, Juventus attempted to secure the services of the player from Rivera, but the 35M€ that 'La Vecchia Signora' wanted to pay represented an absurd offer for the Catalan club.

In any case, beyond the millions that 'Man U' is willing to pay for Araujo, it will be the defender who decides whether to stay or leave Barcelona. The center-back's intention is to stay with the Catalans for a long time, but if he finds himself relegated to a secondary role in the upcoming months in Hansi Flick's plans, it is likely that he will decide to take a step back. The Uruguayan is currently the team's third captain and has accumulated 158 official matches with the club.
