FC Barcelona would be attentive to the possible union between Mika Mármol and AS Roma, a transaction that would leave an important economic benefit for Barça
The FC Barcelona has recently implemented a successful formula with the sales of several of its young promises who do not have space in the first team and end up being transferred to other teams. This sale, beyond the profit generated by the transfer fee, often serves as a source of a second gain, which comes from the so-called future sales clauses.
This stipulation ensures that the Blaugrana club, if these players end up 'breaking out' and are sold to another team for a significant amount, Barcelona can once again benefit from a player from whom they parted ways in the past.
One of the players expected to be involved in such a move is the 23-year-old defender, Mika Mármol. Hailing from Terrassa, he currently plays for UD Las Palmas, but Barcelona still has an agreement with the Canarian team whereby they would receive up to 50% of the amount the island team receives for the sale of the player.
It is worth remembering that Mármol left the Catalan team in 2022. This was after Barça sold 50% of the federative rights of Mika to FC Andorra, a team that later transferred the defender in 2023 to UD Las Palmas.
AS Roma wants to sign Mika Mármol
Currently, FC Barcelona could profit from Mika Mármol. According to recent reports by 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', Roma is in negotiations with UD Las Palmas to finalize the signing of the Terrassa defender in this winter transfer window. It is said that Roma's offer would be around €7 million.
However, apparently, UD Las Palmas remains firm in their stance of only letting go of Mika Mármol through the payment of his release clause, which is set at €10 million. In this scenario, considering the previous amounts, if Las Palmas and Roma reach an agreement for the transfer of the Terrassa player, Barcelona could receive between €3.5 and €5 million.
This 'windfall' would assist in a potential signing for the Blaugrana in this winter transfer window
If this sale goes through, Barcelona would be adding another profit to their coffers in order to make an addition in this winter market, where their outbound operation has been hindered by various reasons. For instance, such as the change of heart regarding the continuity of Eric García in the club, the injury of Andreas Christensen, and even Ansu Fati's reluctance to leave the Cule team.
However, operations like this, and even some unexpected ones like the possible departures of Unai Hernández to Al-Ittihad or Pau Prim to Al-Qadisiya, could be improving Barcelona's prospects for trying a signing in the final days of the winter market or, why not, finalizing some renewals that are on the agenda of the Blaugrana team.
