New and important suitor for one of FC Barcelona's 'transferable' players
Good news for FC Barcelona. Inter Milan have shown interest in one of the players that the Barça board has on the way out, which could leave a significant profit in the Barça team's coffers
Mika Faye has the door open to leave FC Barcelona. The board of directors are thinking of selling him this summer because Hansi Flick has decided not to count on him and the Blaugrana team has him on the market waiting to finalise a sale since the priority is a transfer at 15 million euros before a loan.
One of the latest clubs to have shown interest in the centre-back is Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri team has asked about the defender, however, the operation would be through a loan with an obligatory purchase option. This would not please the board headed by Deco too much, but the problem is that the clubs that have shown interest are only on loan.
Therefore, Barça will have to sit down and negotiate or quickly find a club that will allow them to complete the sale. Let us remember that Faye came to the team for just over two million euros and signed a contract for four seasons. In the reserve team he has exploited his potential, which has allowed him to debut in the Senegal national team with good performances. Although he would like to stay and prove his worth in Flick's team, the coach has too many centre-backs and the German does not see him as a left-back, so he and his entourage are considering options.
Inter see Faye as the centre-back they need
The team led by Simone Inzaghi is looking for a centre-back and although they have several options on the table, they have been interested in Faye. The Italian board has been following the player for months and is willing to pay for a long-term transfer. Deco's idea is to get a sale for around 15 million euros, but the offers that have arrived, so far, do not reach that figure.
For example, Porto was willing to pay around six million for a percentage of the player, while Rennes could go up to eight million. Inter could reach 15 million in fixed amounts plus variables, but only paying it from June 30, 2025.
The priority of the Blaugrana board is to make money with the exit operation and is pushing those around him to make a decision this week. If we talk about LaLiga clubs, teams such as Betis or Real Sociedad have asked about his loan, but Barcelona has closed the door to this type of operation for the moment. The player will have the option to decide his destination, which must be in Europe because he does not want to cut his career short by going to leagues such as the United States or Saudi Arabia. In the next few days we will have an answer.
