The 'Vitor Roque case' could take a 180 -degree turn soon, since FC Barcelona and Real Betis would be in conversations to discuss the future of 'Tigrinho'
The future of Vitor Roque seems to be increasingly distant from European football. Yes, little by little, the information suggesting that 'Tigrinho', currently at Real Betis on loan from FC Barcelona, could join Palmeiras definitively this February.
It should be noted that the winter transfer market in Brazil is still open and will remain open until February 28, giving 'Verdão' time to bid for the services of the native of Timóteo.
Recently, the sporting director of Real Betis, Manu Fajardo, has spoken about the situation of the forward and revealed that the 'verdiblanco' club and FC Barcelona have maintained contact to discuss the future of the former Athletico Paranaense player. "Yesterday there was a call from Barcelona, there is an extraordinary relationship between both clubs, and as of today nothing indicates otherwise," commented the executive before the microphones of 'Movistar Plus+' when asked if Vitor Roque will remain with the Andalusian team until the end of the season.
Scenarios that FC Barcelona must consider regarding the sale of Vitor Roque
These statements do not clarify a situation that depends on several factors to materialize effectively. One of them is that consensus between Palmeiras and FC Barcelona is required, since the latter owns the rights of the forward until June 30, 2031. According to reports in 'SPORT', the azulgrana team does not oppose the idea of letting 'Tigrinho' go to 'Verdão'.
Apparently, the Catalan team has offered Palmeiras two negotiation options: a direct transfer this February for an amount no less than €27 million, or a loan with a mandatory purchase option before June 30 for around €25 million.
The azulgrana club cannot forget about Betis in this transaction
Now, if Palmeiras accepts any of these options, FC Barcelona still has to resolve a pending matter: Real Betis. Vitor Roque has a contract with the Betis team until the end of the 2024-25 season.
Therefore, the opinion of Manuel Pellegrini's team is also crucial, especially considering that the Andalusians would lose an option in the offensive plan. Although Real Betis reinforced with Juan Camilo 'Cucho' Hernández in the last winter market, they need depth in the forward line and would not be able to acquire another player to fill that position, since the winter market in Spain closed on February 3.
Additionally, it has been mentioned that the team based at Benito Villamarín might be willing to negotiate the forward's exit on the condition of receiving financial compensation. This could either be settling the portion of the fee they have paid so far for the former Cruzeiro player or increasing the percentage of the rights of Ez Abde (FC Barcelona still holds 50% of a future sale of the Moroccan winger), as noted by 'Mundo Deportivo'.
Will Vitor Roque want to leave for Palmeiras?
Finally, it remains to be seen if Vitor Roque, who in the past expressed his desire not to leave European football, is interested in returning to Brazilian football, from which he left in 2024. There he was a young promise with Athletico Paranaense and would now join Palmeiras, one of the best teams in Brazil, with a project that includes interesting names. Even, from Brazilian soil, it is said that he could become one of the great stars of the team, potentially becoming one of the highest-paid players.
