The signing of Lautaro Martínez could complicate a lot for the FC Barcelona. The postures with the Inter of Milan have moved away and the operation could frustrate
The same old story. When a footballer interests FC Barcelona, the player's club owns all possible obstacles to put pressure on the culé club to pay off-market prices. It happened with Philippe Coutinho, with Ousmane Dembélé ... and Valencia also tried it for Rodrigo Moreno a few months ago. If we go back to recent years, the same thing has always happened, whether or not the signing for subsequent performance comes out well.
Naturally, Lautaro Martínez was not going to be an exception. Inter Milan consider him their great star, so why would they sell him? The intention is clear: refer to the termination clause - worth 111 million euros - that will last until mid-July and not accept an offer that is below. They want to retain the footballer as much as he wants to leave.
According to information published this Friday by 'La Gazzetta Dello Sport', the Inter Milan board is increasingly confident that they can retain Lautaro Martínez. The leaders of the Lombard club have tightened the rope to such an extent that they are convinced that FC Barcelona will not be able to meet the 'neroazzurras' economic expectations to let the albiceleste international go.
In fact, Inter Milan will offer the Argentine a succulent renovation proposal so that he puts aside his desire to dress in Barça to play at the Camp Nou alongside his compatriot Leo Messi. The positions of the Italian team and FC Barcelona in the face of negotiations are increasingly distant, partly due to the change in the market trend in recent months.
Change of trend
The pandemic has financially weakened a FC Barcelona that already from the first moment did not intend to pay the 111 'kilos' of the clause. In addition, the Catalans have seen how in the last weeks two signings of top-tier forwards such as Mauro Icardi and Timo Werner have been closed without any of them exceeding 60 million. Why should Catalans pay more for Lautaro?
These circumstances have made Barça more entrenched in its position and, naturally, Inter Milan find another excuse for not selling. Lautaro's arrival at the Camp Nou is complicated and time plays against the Catalans. Of course, if the Argentine does not renew, there will be opportunities to bring him more easily in the future.
