Nico Williams was present at 'La Revuelta' with his brother, Iñaki, and revealed details of his 'non-signing' for Barça last summer
Nico Williams and his brother, Iñaki, were the main stars of the programme on Wednesday 6 November on 'La Revuelta' by David Broncano. The Athletic Club de Bilbao footballers went to the 'La 1 de TVE' show to promote their own documentary film, but they left many 'pearls' throughout the night.
However, the most notable came from the Euro 2024 champion with Spain. At one point in the programme, the presenter asked the left winger about his possible signing for FC Barcelona, which was the biggest 'soap opera' of last summer.
Lamine Yamal and Balde's messages to Nico
And the fact is that the Catalans tried to sign the Navarrese during the previous transfer market to reinforce the left side of the attack, but the footballer decided to stay in Bilbao. "It was difficult. On top of that, the bastards Lamine, Balde and all these people didn't help," admitted the youngest of the Williams. "What did they say?" Broncano asked him, to which Nico responded, without hesitation, immediately:
"Come now, brother, come now! They weren't helping, they weren't helping"
Later, the presenter of the programme asked him if he kept in daily contact with the Blaugrana players amid the rumours linking him to Barça, and Nico revealed that "yes, yes, all the time. And I replied 'I'll tell you, I'll tell you'. I didn't reveal anything, I just spoke to the family and that's it."
Finally, Williams confessed that he still receives messages from Barcelona, although with a different tone than back then. "Now that I've been released, I still get messages about Barça. There are people who tell me 'come to Barça' and others tell me 'we don't need you anymore'," Nico concluded with a laugh.
