Nico Williams' future is likely to be far from La Liga. Barça no longer have him as a priority and the Premier League seems to be his likely destination

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The soap opera between Nico Williams and FC Barcelona seems to be coming to an end... with both parties going their separate ways. After being the main target of the Barça sports management last summer, the Catalans would still have his name on the table but it would be far from being a priority.

The Catalans have been 'saddened' by the outcome of the negotiations and do not intend to make a move for the Navarrese next summer unless the player himself decides to take a step forward in the operation. In fact, at Can Barça they are already 'combing' the market for wingers and names like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Rafael Leao appear as the new favourites of the Blaugrana entity.

Nico has several 'girlfriends' abroad

Given that the situation with the Catalans has cooled down, Nico is already rethinking his future and, according to 'The Athletic', he would welcome a change of scenery outside of LaLiga, with the Premier League as the main destination if he decides to leave Athletic Club.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham appear as the winger's main 'girlfriends' in England, with the two Londoners as top candidates after bidding for his signing last summer.

However, both Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain also appear as possible candidates to sign him, while the Basques will seek to renew his contract, in an operation that, despite there having already been approaches, will be defined at the end of the season. Williams' future is more up in the air than ever.
