Pau Víctor is one of the players earmarked to leave FC Barcelona in January. However, the mess regarding his registration seriously jeopardizes his future.

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona has a serious problem with the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor which, if prolonged over the next few days, could put the club in jeopardy with the possibility of losing two players for free. In the case of the player from Sant Cugat, although his contract does not include an immediate release clause due to federative withdrawal, he can demand its termination under Article 133 of the General Regulations of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

The section states that any player whose license is canceled during a season can request the freedom letter from the club that owns their rights. Otherwise, they will not be able to play with any team until the end of the current season. Being deregistered by LaLiga and without a federative license, Barça cannot transfer or loan Pau. Therefore, if the RFEF and the league insist on denying his registration, the Catalans will be forced to terminate his contract so that the forward does not remain without playing for five months.

Interest in LaLiga Grows for the Signing of Pau Víctor

Before his exclusion from the Blaugrana squad, the 23-year-old player was on Betis's radar. The 'verdiblancos' see a simple loan until the end of the 2024-25 season as feasible, but the possibility of signing him as a free agent has increased the number of clubs interested in Pau Víctor. Sevilla, Girona, and Real Sociedad are, for now, some of the clubs that could go for the '18' Catalan if, ultimately, Barça is forced to terminate his contract.

The player from Sant Cugat signed for 5 seasons, until June 2029, for 3 million euros. The forward has scored a couple of goals and provided one assist in 17 matches (220 minutes), with only one start (against Osasuna) in the first half of the season. If the Catalans resolve his registration this week, it is very likely that the Catalan player will leave on loan in the coming days, as, despite Hansi Flick's confidence, he faces significant challenges in getting quality minutes for the rest of the 24-25 season.
