In recent days, amidst a wave of rumors circulating about possible signings to strengthen the midfield area of FC Barcelona, one of the names that emerged was Danilo Pereira, a 32-year-old Portuguese defensive midfielder who previously belonged to Paris Saint-Germain. At the French club, he had lost prominence in the sporting project of coach Luis Enrique, leading to the search for an exit for him during the summer transfer window.

However, that idea seems to have been just information without much impact, as it appears that Barcelona never actually considered this acquisition, despite Danilo being a 'low cost' piece, experienced, and versatile, capable of playing in two positions, both as a defensive midfielder and a defender. Despite his qualities, it was not enough to convince Barça, preferring to trust La Masia to strengthen the midfield, a strategy that has borne fruit, first with Marc Bernal and then with Marc Casadó.

PSG Sells Danilo Pereira to Al-Ittihad

Returning to the case of Danilo Pereira, the Parisian team finally managed to part ways with him, finding his new destination in Arab football. Paris Saint-Germain announced through their social networks that they reached an agreement with Al-Ittihad, a club where stars like Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kanté also play, to transfer the Portuguese player. Additionally, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, this transaction was finalized for around five million euros.

This concludes Danilo Pereira's time at PSG, which began in the summer of 2020 and ends after four seasons, during which he played a total of 157 matches, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists. In terms of trophies, he managed to add three Ligue 1 titles, two French Cups, and three Super Cups.
