PSG has set its sights on Rodrygo to strengthen its attack. The Parisians see him as the perfect opportunity to 'get back' at Real Madrid for the signing of Mbappé
Rodrygo Goes is the most affected figure of Real Madrid after the arrival of Kylian Mbappé at the Santiago Bernabéu. The Brazilian had earned a place in Carlo Ancelotti's starting eleven last season, playing a key role in the whites' double win of La Liga and Champions League.
However, his role has once again become secondary after the Frenchman's signing, which has led several clubs to start closely monitoring him in search of taking advantage of his evident discontent at Chamartín. Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City are some of those who have knocked on his door, but it is Paris Saint-Germain who would be willing to 'spare no expense' for his signing.
PSG wants revenge on Madrid
According to 'RMC', the Parisians are looking to 'get back' at Madrid for the signing of Mbappé, and they see Rodrygo's situation as the perfect opportunity to strike back. Luis Enrique, moreover, is a great admirer of the player and would have requested his incorporation since he signed as the club's coach, so he would be delighted to have him in his squad.
From the Parc des Princes, they would try to sign him next summer, but the operation, as of today, is practically impossible. The forward has a release clause of one billion euros, and the merengues will never negotiate with PSG for a possible transfer due to the terrible relationship between both institutions. If they were to let him go, they would prefer to negotiate with any Premier League team, and if the French come knocking, they will demand the full payment of his release clause.
However, the Parisians intend to set the wheels in motion to convince the player to accept their proposal. In France, Rodrygo would become the face of the team and the focal point of Luis Enrique's attack, in addition to receiving a star salary like the one that the Ligue 1 champions would offer him. Nevertheless, they will first have to get past the 'wall' of Florentino Pérez, so a 'soap opera' seems to be starting to brew.
