Real Madrid are looking to change their transfer policy. The club would bet on signing Spanish players to regain a presence in the national team

Real Madrid's transfer policy in the last few transfer windows has made it clear that the Merengues are governed by a series of demanding requirements when it comes to signing a player. However, the Santiago Bernabéu offices would seek to turn this situation around and focus, among other things, on regaining presence in the Spanish player market.

This is reported by 'Relevo', where they assure that members of the Merengue board would bet on signing national players with the aim of regaining ground in the National Team. This is not a rule for future signings, but rather an idea that will be implemented with the arrival of outstanding players who have played with Spain or who are aiming for a future call-up.

In recent years, players such as Nacho, Joselu, Asensio or Sergio Ramos have been in charge of representing the club in La Roja, although due to level or age they have left the institution. The exodus of Spaniards from Chamartín has reached such a point that in the current squad there are only Carvajal, Vallejo, Lucas Vázquez and Fran García, and some of these would have one foot out of the club.

Madrid has several interesting names

This policy of looking more abroad has led to the loss of presence in the Spanish team. In fact, due to Dani Carvajal's injury, no Madrid player appears in Luis de la Fuente's latest lists. A situation that is worrying in the capital, especially after the return to the top of the Roja after winning the Euro Cup.

For this reason, the whites, without forgetting opportunities such as Alexander-Arnold or Davies, would aim to sign some of the most outstanding footballers from the different categories of the national team, with names such as Rodri, Laporte or Pedro Porro appearing as great candidates to wear the white shirt in the coming seasons.

In this way, Madrid is looking to repeat the formula that is beginning to bring success to FC Barcelona at present, where players such as Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, Pedri, Marc Casadó and Pau Cubarsí shine both at the club and with Spain. The big difference: the Barça talents are home-grown.
