Will FC Barcelona sign Trent Alexander-Arnold? That is not clear, but the reality is that, at least apparently, the culé club would be exploring its options with the right back
The name of Trent Alexander-Arnold has become one of the most discussed in the international sports scene. Why? The talented right-back, at just 26 years of age, has not yet renewed his contract with Liverpool, a team with which he is linked until June 30, 2025. There has been a cloak of secrecy surrounding his renewal, so much so that not many reports have emerged indicating that the West Derby native will extend his relationship with the 'Reds'.
In light of this, and given his quality as a top right-back, it is common for speculations to arise about the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold. One of the most discussed pieces of information is the possibility of Real Madrid opting to sign him as a free agent in the upcoming summer transfer window. However, this does not rule out the possibility of other teams competing to secure his services.
Trent Alexander-Arnold could be nearing a move to FC Barcelona
Coincidentally, some include FC Barcelona in the list of teams interested in the right-back. Given his status as one of the best in the world in his position and considering that his arrival would come at no transfer cost due to his free agent status, it becomes a rather attractive option to consider. Furthermore, his evident connection with the 'culé' sentiment could motivate a potential move to Barça.
In fact, 'El Nacional.cat' even suggests that the player's entourage may have already had conversations with Deco, the sporting director of FC Barcelona, and that these discussions have been very fruitful. It is also expressed that the right-back would be attracted to Hansi Flick's sporting project, as it is a winning project that combines youth and experience, along with a playing style that could benefit him. Given the attacking football he displays, being a very technical player with an excellent vision of the game, passing ability, and long-range shooting worthy of the best in the world in his position.
Although the operation is far from being finalized, its realization is not impossible. If it does come to fruition, it would be considered a real bargain in the market and a setback for Real Madrid, which could lose one of the options it has been exploring to strengthen its right-back position.
