FC Barcelona is closely monitoring the situation of Mohamed Salah and the uncertainty over his renewal. Apparently, they are not ruling him out as a possible signing for next season
Mohamed Salah is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after footballers who seems likely to try free agency starting next summer. It is worth remembering that the Egyptian's contract with Liverpool ends on June 30, 2025, and the issue of his renewal does not seem too clear, as although there have been talks of some offers to extend his bond with the club, it does not seem like there has been a response from 'The Pharaoh.'
With this in mind, it's not surprising that speculations about the future of Mohamed Salah, who at 32 years old continues to demonstrate that he is more relevant than ever, are beginning to emerge. In the 15 matches he has played this season with Liverpool, he has scored nine goals and provided seven assists, being the main offensive argument of the 'red' team.
At this point, the destination that seems to gain more strength regarding the future of Mohamed Salah revolves around his move to the Saudi Arabian football. In fact, regarding this, journalist Ekrem Konur suggests that there are two clubs that are favored in this matter: Al Hilal and Al-Ittihad. These teams would try to finalize the incorporation of 'Mo' in the special transfer window from June 1 to 10, which was introduced specifically for the FIFA Club World Cup, with the aim of securing the signing of the Egyptian star before this tournament.
Barcelona could explore their options to sign Mohamed Salah at no cost
However, in this case, no scenario can be ruled out. 'SPORT' suggests that Barcelona could be one of the clubs interested in knowing the situation of Mohamed Salah, in order to strengthen their attack in the upcoming summer market. The Nagrig native has been mentioned on more than one occasion as a candidate to reinforce the 'culé' forward line, but negotiations have been complicated for purely economic reasons, and this time may not be an exception.
Currently, Mohamed Salah earns around 18.2 million pounds gross per season (approximately 21.7 million euros). It would not be unreasonable to think that 'The Pharaoh' could be seeking one last big contract in his professional career, which could complicate Barcelona's interest in the player, especially considering that Saudi Arabian football is on the prowl with an economic 'muscle' ready to meet the economic demands of the Egyptian forward.
However, the fact remains that Mohamed Salah could also be tempted by the sporting project of FC Barcelona. Furthermore, the prestige that comes with wearing the colors of the Catalan team is undeniable, a factor that could weigh in when the Egyptian makes a decision.
