Hansi Flick is looking forward to the arrival of Dani Olmo at FC Barcelona. Beyond the good image that the kids left on the American tour (especially Pau Víctor and Marc Casadó), the German coach prioritized the signing of a top footballer and the one from Terrassa has what it takes to 'fall in love' with both the staff and to the culé fans, being a very versatile midfielder who can perform without problems in various offensive positions.

For Heidelberg, there are no doubts about the base scheme to use at the start of the season. The team has worked throughout the preseason based on a 4-2-3-1 that prioritizes a compact block with high pressure and quick exit to hurt rivals, with the pending task of avoiding allowing too many spaces at the back. In principle, Olmo should be positioned as an interior on the left, although he will be free to arrive as a false '9', in addition to continually partnering with Ílkay Gündogan in the middle. While waiting for what happens with Nico Williams, Flick is already breathing easier thinking about how to make the most of the scoring potential of a team that, in attack, has a lot of firepower available.

Dani Olmo, ready for his presentation and debut at the Gamper

After 36 very intense hours in which he finished defining his transfer to Barça, Dani passed the medical tests this Wednesday and his signing would be official for all purposes this Thursday. In that sense, the one from Terrassa will take advantage of the weekend to get physically fit and make his debut on Monday in the Joan Gamper Trophy against Monaco. The midfielder would be ready to add some minutes, just before the League debut next Saturday at Mestalla.

To do this, Barça must resolve the pending financial issues, since for now it cannot yet sign under the 1/1 rule nor does it have enough margin to register the entire squad. With one week left until the start of the season, the Catalans only have 17 players eligible for matchday 1, including the injured Ronald Araújo, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong and Gavi, in addition to Oriol Romeu, who left on loan to Girona.
