Marc Bernal's injury has put Danilo Pereira back on FC Barcelona's radar. The Paris Saint-Germain player is being singled out as one of Luis Enrique's 'discards' and could land in Catalunya for a small fee

FC Barcelona must sign a defensive pivot before the close of the summer transfer window. Marc Bernal's injury forces the board to reinforce one of the positions that seemed to have been ruled out after the good preseason carried out by the lad alongside Marc Casadó and, from France, a 'low cost' option has been heard again from Paris Saint-Germain, which in the last few hours has confirmed the departures of Manuel Ugarte and Nordi Mukiele.

According to the latest information, Luis Enrique's men are open to listening to offers for Danilo Pereira. The Portuguese international has a contract until June 2025 and, although he was a starter in 27 of the 34 games he played last season under the orders of the Asturian coach, he is one of the club's 'discards' for 2024/25. With a current market value of 8 million euros, PSG would accept around 5 million net for his transfer.

In this sense, Barça could consider the 32-year-old player to reinforce the pivot position, since without Bernal there is only Marc Casadó as an alternative alongside Eric García. In the last few hours Stefan Bajcetic has also been strongly linked, who could arrive on loan for a year from Liverpool. Unlike the Portuguese, the Galician midfielder has less experience (19 years old), but has ideal characteristics to adapt to the Barça style.

Porto and Atlético would try to leave Barça without the option of Danilo Pereira

In addition to Barça, Porto and Atlético de Madrid are keeping a close eye on the future of the Portuguese international. The 'colchoneros' do not rule out another last-minute signing this week, as long as they manage to get rid of Thomas Lemar and Javi Galán, who are certain to be discarded by 'Cholo' Simeone. The Argentine coach has requested to incorporate another midfielder and Danilo's profile fits very well into the 'rojiblanco' scheme.

Likewise, coach Vítor Bruno has set his sights on the player from Bissau as a 'low-cost' option to reinforce the 'dragons' midfield, while waiting to see what happens with Nico González. In the last few hours, rumours have circulated about Barça's possible interest in bringing back the Galician due to the presence of Deco in the Portuguese city, but the culés are looking for a midfielder with another profile to cover the unexpected absence of Marc Bernal for the entire season.
