Saudi Arabia tried to seduce Robert Lewandowski with a million-dollar offer. The Pole has reportedly rejected the proposal and is aiming for his fourth year as a Barça player
Robert Lewandowski's spectacular start to the season is not going unnoticed. The Pole has been one of the main responsible for Hansi Flick's great start to the project in Barcelona, scoring 12 goals and providing 2 assists in the first 11 games of the season. At 36 years old, the striker remains key to the team and everything points to him continuing to be the great reference point for the Barça attack for another year.
The player's contract expires in 2025, but within the initial agreement a fourth year was included that was automatically executed if the player played a percentage of games (close to 50%), and at the rate he is going, there is no doubt that the player will meet this quota and will be the Barça '9', a priori, until 2026.
However, Saudi Arabia has reportedly tried to seduce the scorer with a tempting offer. According to 'El Nacional.cat', the Pole received an offer from the Arabian Peninsula whose figures were exorbitant with the aim of attracting him to the Saudi Pro League, thus repeating the formula used with Karim Benzema and Real Madrid in the summer of 2023.
Lewandowski's response to the Arabs' offer
Despite this, Lewandowski's position regarding the Arabs' petrodollars was very different from that of the 2022 Ballon d'Or. The striker would only think about continuing to wear the Barça shirt in the short term, which is why he would have rejected the offer from the Asians since he considers that his place is at Barça, where his figure is increasingly important.
The striker is experiencing a second youth under the orders of Hansi Flick, so the immediate future of the position depends on 'Lewy's' goals. However, the offices of Spotify Camp Nou are working to cover their backs in the medium term and are already studying various alternatives to replace the Blaugrana '9' beyond 2026, with Jonathan David, Viktor Gyökeres and Erling Haaland as some of the names that are most liked in the club.
