FC Barcelona sees the incorporation of Joshua Kimmich becoming more and more distant. Now Bayern Munich has made a new move for the German to renew. Do you want to know which one it is? We tell you at FCBN

The FC Barcelona seemingly will have to park their alleged desires to secure the services of Joshua Kimmich to strengthen the pivot, as the transaction for the 29-year-old midfielder is becoming more complex. Every move seems to indicate that the Rottweil native will not leave Bayern Munich, at least in the near future.

In this context, the club's main strategy to negotiate for Joshua Kimmich appeared to be based on the option of the German midfielder, under contract with Bayern until June 30, 2025, deciding not to renew his association with the Bavarian club. This would open up two scenarios: the first would involve the Bavarian team, in the event that the '6' expresses his intention not to renew, seeking to transfer him in the winter market, possibly accepting offers below market value. The second scenario, apparently the most favorable for Barcelona, would be to acquire his services as a free agent in the summer of 2025.

However, the German's stay at Bayern Munich seems to be increasingly a reality. The German midfielder, as hinted in recent statements, would be willing to negotiate with the Munich team the extension of his contract. Consequently, both parties would be interested in reaching an agreement, so it feels like a matter of time before an understanding is reached and this elusive renewal is finally announced.

Bayern Munich to Give Captaincy to Joshua Kimmich

Now, there is information suggesting that the renewal of Joshua Kimmich is close to becoming a reality. According to the German newspaper 'BILD', Bayern Munich is in a position to offer him the team captaincy, currently held by Manuel Neuer, in order to give the Bavarian midfielder more prominence and to convince him to seal the contract extension agreement.

This would be a new move by 'Die Roten' to try to secure the continuity of the German midfielder in the team. Kimmich is reportedly considering this continuity given his current good moment at the Munich team. Beyond Bayern's positive results in sports, Joshua's situation in the club seems very favorable, as he has a good relationship with his current coach, Vincent Kompany.

Kompany sees him as a key piece in his sports project and has decided to position him as a midfielder, completely removing him from the right flank, a position in the center of the field preferred by the German.

Does the Catalan Club Still Consider Strengthening with the German Midfielder?

With this in mind, it would not be surprising if sooner rather than later Joshua Kimmich renews with Bayern Munich, thus dispelling any option that FC Barcelona might have of trying to secure his services. The Catalan team is unlikely to be willing to invest in a transfer that will not be particularly economical and that, in terms of salaries, could also prove challenging, given the probable wage demands of the midfielder. Currently, according to 'Capology' metrics, the German midfielder earns a total of 19.5 million euros gross.

In addition, it is noteworthy that a new generation of high-level midfielders is being developed at Barcelona, with players from the academy like Marc Bernal and Marc Casadó, whose projections suggest they could become some of the best pivots in the world and need the opportunity to play. Furthermore, Barcelona already has another high-level player in that position to strengthen the pivot like Frenkie de Jong, and even with Pedri González, who has had opportunities in the midfield base.
