The two positions that Barcelona could reinforce after streamlining the 'exit operation'
Kingsley Coman - left winger - Bayern Munich
Initially, the most obvious need in Barcelona's squad seems to be strengthening the left winger position, where a 'top' player is required. So far, negotiations for signings that seemed more promising, such as in the case of Nico Williams from Athletic Club and Luis Diaz from Liverpool, appear to have stalled. Therefore, the Blaugrana team must embark on a new search in the market to acquire that disruptive winger who brings an offensive character to the team on that flank.
At this point, among the numerous names that emerge almost daily, Kingsley Coman could be the player who best fits the club's needs. The Parisian, with experience in top-level squads like Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, is already a familiar face to Hansi Flick, who knew how to bring out the best in him during his time at Bayern Munich, accumulating 13 goals and 18 assists in 63 matches.
In turn, Coman, at 28, is at an optimal age to continue performing at a high level, despite some recent physical setbacks. It is known that if he manages to regain his physical peak, he can be a stellar footballer, with great imbalance and one-on-one skills that make him hard to stop. It's worth noting that the 'Sky Blues' are looking to sell Cancelo, setting his price at around 30 'million', while Barça seems to prefer a loan deal. However, in a more favorable economic situation, it would not be surprising if the club opts for a transfer with favorable terms if circumstances allow.
Will Barcelona strengthen the midfield area?
To conclude, a perhaps more complex option would be to acquire a central midfielder with more defensive characteristics. It is clear that Hansi Flick greatly values the elements of his squad, especially in midfield, where the Culés have numerous assets. However, what is the particularity of these players? Most, if not all, have more offensive and dynamic characteristics than defensive ones. Therefore, it would be beneficial to have a player who provides solidity in the midfield, valuing a profile with great physical presence that can reinforce that area.
