Ferran Torres will count little for Hansi Flick in the second section of the 24/25, but the 'Shark' is not willing to facilitate his departure from FC Barcelona in January

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The FC Barcelona board hopes to resolve the future of Ferran Torres in the winter market. The one from Foiós, who is out until early December due to an injury to his right femoral biceps, will have few options to add quality minutes after his return, since Hansi Flick has other more reliable options to complement the Barça offensive trident.

In that sense, two LaLiga clubs would have already asked about the 'Shark', knowing his situation in Barcelona. The latest information indicates Villarreal and Valencia as the teams that, for the moment, have been interested in the winger as a possible winter reinforcement.

The two clubs would be willing to negotiate a simple transfer, without a purchase option at the end of 2024/25. However, the '7' culé did not take long to rule out both alternatives since, despite knowing he will be a substitute for the rest of the season, his intention is to stay and fight for a place in the Barça team.

Ferran Torres insists on fighting for a place in Barcelona

Ferran left Flick with a good feeling during the preseason, but he did not know how to take advantage of the five starts (four in the League, one in the Champions League) that the German coach gave him between August and September. The Valencian has 1 goal and two assists in 10 appearances (430 minutes) with Barça this season. Bad fortune played against him against Alavés, a match where he started as a starter and ended up getting injured as soon as the match started.

With Dani Olmo, Gavi, Pablo Torre and Pau Víctor available (Ansu Fati can also leave in January), Flick has enough alternatives in attack for his rotation plan. Hence, the most sensible thing for Ferran is to look for a team, but the winger insists on staying.

A transfer, the only feasible way for Ferran Torres to leave in winter

In principle, Barça expects to earn between 25 and 30 million euros for the transfer of the 'Shark', but there are few clubs that, at this point, are willing to pay that amount for the 24-year-old forward. The one from Foiós sounded strongly in the summer for several English clubs, in addition to some interesting offers in Arabia.

However, the winger has 'gone past' all the rumors about his departure and has no intention of changing his position facing the winter market. The board and coaching staff, for their part, will respect the player's position, considering that his contract ends in 2027 and, despite his weak start to the season, he is still an interesting alternative in attack for the team. Likewise, it is not the club's policy to pressure any player to leave.
