Can Balde leave Barça? United's interest and the club's response.

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Manchester United is interested in strengthening their left-back options and sees Alejandro Balde as a very valuable option despite having recently signed Patrick Dorgu, who arrived from Italian Lecce for 30 million euros. The 20-year-old Danish international can comfortably play on both flanks, which means Rúben Amorim could deploy him on the right if the club manages to sign the '3' from FC Barcelona.

According to the English portal 'CaughtOffside', the 'red devils' are preparing a 40 million euro offer for Balde, although the Spanish defender has a contract until 2028 and a release clause of 1,000 'kilos'. Amorim sees Álex as a significant improvement over the current left-backs at 'Manu U', Lisandro Martínez and Luke Shaw, as the speed, offensive capability, and defensive solidity of the Catalan are a weakness for the Portuguese coach.

Barça does not plan to put Alejandro Balde on the market this summer

However, the Barça board does not plan to listen to offers for the 21-year-old defender in the upcoming market. At the beginning of the season, some sectors of the Catalan press questioned the starting position of the '3' and the lack of another player capable of challenging for his spot. Nevertheless, the level shown by the defender in recent months (he has 8 assists in 38 matches) has cleared any doubts about his ability to defend the left flank for many years.

In this sense, Hansi Flick also plays a crucial role in the decision regarding Alejandro Balde's future. Although there are no direct statements from the coach related to the fullback's future, his ultra-offensive scheme and his confidence in the Spanish international have been decisive for Álex, like the rest of the squad, to step up this season, both in terms of physical solidity and performance on the field.

Thus, beyond Manchester United's willingness to offer a significant amount for Balde, as well as Barça's need to bring in money to strengthen, the defender's future, for now, is not in doubt. The club keeps the possibility of signing another left-back open, but this does not question the continuity and prominence of the '3'.
