Ansu Fati's environment meets with Barça: What future awaits the player?
The future of Ansu Fati will be one of the hot topics for FC Barcelona during the upcoming summer. The forward, whose role in Hansi Flick's new project in the Catalan city is practically nonexistent, has limited time left at the club, as he has one of the highest salaries in the squad and the Catalans will look to offload him at the end of the season.
The drama of the youth player in the blue and garnet team could have found a solution during the winter window, as the club opened the exit door for him in January. In fact, journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that the player rejected more than four offers a couple of months ago to try his luck at a new destination.
However, at Can Barça, they remain firm in their intention to part ways with the Spanish-Bissau-Guinean during the summer transfer market, preferably through a permanent transfer, although it will be the player himself who will have the final say regarding his future, as his contract with the club expires in June 2027.
Ansu Fati's environment explodes against Barça
Amid this uncertainty surrounding his continuity in the Catalan city, 'Jijantes' has revealed that Ansu's father, Bori Fati, held a meeting in recent hours with Barça's executives to express their dissatisfaction with his son's situation, demanding that the club representatives acknowledge that the player is giving his all in training and is not finding any opportunities of any kind.
Fati's environment believes that the player deserves more opportunities to prove his worth, so the 'soap opera' is beginning to reach its limit. This season, the blue and garnet '10' has barely played 187 minutes across all competitions, starting only once. Additionally, in 13 of the 43 matches played by the team this season, he has remained on the bench without stepping onto the field, in 10 he has been injured, and in 12, he has been excluded.
The last time he donned the jersey was in January, against Barbastro in the Copa del Rey. Since then, he has remained unused, being the fourth least utilized player by Flick and only surpassing the records of the injured Christensen (26') and the youth players Toni Fernández (9') and Andrés Cuenca (6'), which makes it clear that the forward is of little importance to the German coach.
Despite having two and a half more seasons left on his contract, the reality is that Ansu's future is far from Spotify Camp Nou. The forward is only 22 years old and has a whole career ahead of him, so he will need to seek a new destination where he can revive his career, as his credit has run out at Barça.
