FC Barcelona is finding it increasingly difficult to resolve the registration of Dani Olmo for the second half of the season. LaLiga has yet to approve the finances of the Catalan club, partly due to the pressure from two clubs
Two clubs in LaLiga are reportedly pressuring Javier Tebas to block the registration of Dani Olmo. FC Barcelona has yet to receive the 'ok' from LaLiga regarding the income derived from the new contract with Nike, a key operation for the club to finally return to the 1/1 rule that allows Spanish teams to sign without restrictions.
Joan Laporta himself admitted during the Barça Christmas dinner that the league demanded the figures from the new link with the American multinational to be passed through the assembly of delegates, a requirement that the blue and garnet team will fulfill this Saturday. If they do not resolve the 'Fair Play' issues through this route, the club has other solutions on the table, including judicial action.
Atlético and Sevilla stand against the registration of Dani Olmo
In this regard, two clubs in LaLiga insist on blocking Olmo's registration, the only 'top' reinforcement for Barça in the past summer market. According to information leaked by 'El Nacional', Atlético de Madrid and Sevilla question the Catalan club's moves to adjust their salary mass, with the Seville team applying the most pressure on the league to monitor Barcelona's finances.
The Andalusian team already challenged the blue and garnet team last season, refusing to send representatives to the box at Lluís Companys for a league match due to the Negreira Case scandal. The 'colchoneros', for their part, have taken a slightly less radical stance, but are looking to take advantage of the 'Olmo case' to resolve their own 'Fair Play' issues.
If the league relaxes its demands on Barça, they will bring up the registration of the player from Terrassa to adjust their salary mass. Dani was registered until December 31, which means he is not eligible to play in matchday 20 (against Getafe). The same applies to Pau Víctor, although the case of the forward is much easier to resolve due to the low cost of his contract.
