Barça are considering renewing Szczesny's contract while Ter Stegen is recovering and Iñaki Peña is staying. If the Pole does not continue, the Catalans would look for a third goalkeeper

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona are starting to plan for next season with a big question mark in goal. After Ter Stegen's serious injury, the club successfully resolved the crisis between the sticks thanks to Iñaki Peña and the temporary signing of Wojciech Szczesny, who has shown impeccable leadership and professionalism. However, the Pole's continuity is not assured, and the Catalans already have an alternative plan.

At Can Barça they would look favourably on the renewal of the former Juventus goalkeeper, but if he decides to leave the club, the Blaugranas would move for a third goalkeeper, with Marcin Bulka from Nice being the favourite of the sports management, as reported by 'SPORT'.

The signing of a big name is ruled out

This decision would rule out the arrival of a renowned goalkeeper to Barcelona. Proven players such as Porto's Diogo Costa and Lille's Lucas Chevalier were also approached by the Spotify Camp Nou offices, but they remain confident in the optimal return of Ter Stegen, whose recovery is progressing faster than expected.

The return of the German for the next preseason, added to the possible renewal of Iñaki Peña, would leave the position well covered. However, the Catalans want to have a third goalkeeper with guarantees to complete the rotation, and although Szczesny is the favourite to occupy this role, the possible signing of a new goalkeeper remains on the table.
