Barça does not rule out the sale of Ronald Araujo next summer. If the Uruguayan ends up leaving, the Catalans will face the signings of Jonathan Tah and Nico Williams
Although they still have pending matters to resolve during the current winter window, the sports management of FC Barcelona is also working on planning the squad for the upcoming season. The return to the 1:1 rule allows the club to operate normally in the transfer market, so the arrival of some reinforcements is expected once the current season ends.
In this regard, Deco has a key move in mind to secure the incorporation of two 'top' players into Hansi Flick's squad. Last week, Joan Laporta finalized the renewal of Ronald Araujo until 2031 with an improvement in his economic conditions. However, his release clause dropped to 65 million euros, leaving the door open for the possible departure of the center-back in the future.
In fact, the portal 'Culemanía' claims that the club's management does not rule out the sale of the Uruguayan next summer. Despite the player hinting at his desire to stay in the Catalan city for several more years, the Blaugrana entity believes that his transfer could be strategic to be able to face two star operations.
The two possible signings for Barça
The first would be Jonathan Tah, with whom Barça would already have a verbal agreement to join the institution as a free agent once his contract with Bayer Leverkusen ends on June 30. Araujo's departure would leave a spot in the center of defense that could be filled by the German, and the 65 million that the club would receive for his release clause would be allocated to the signing of a winger.
In this regard, several names are being considered by the entity, but Nico Williams is the preferred option for the Catalans, who also do not rule out negotiating with Manchester United for Marcus Rashford or with Liverpool for Luis Díaz, although the purchase of the latter would be much more expensive as the 'reds' demand 90 million euros for his transfer.
In any case, the future of the player from the Rivera will mark the roadmap for the Catalans in the summer. Juventus already attempted to sign him this January and, if possible, they could make another move for his transfer in June. Additionally, clubs like Arsenal are also after him, so the 'saga' could have a second part in the coming months.
