Barça managed to register Dani Olmo 'thanks' to Andreas Christensen's injury. However, the player from Egar is registered until January 1, so the Catalans must register him definitively before December 31

Time is running out for FC Barcelona. The Catalan club managed to register Dani Olmo in LaLiga two weeks after officially announcing his signing, since problems with the salary margin prevented the player from registering normally, achieving this objective 'thanks' to Andreas Christensen's injury. However, the player's registration has an expiry date.

This was made clear by both Javier Tebas, president of the national competition, and Javier Gómez, general manager, during the presentation of the salary limits carried out by the employers' association on Thursday 12 September. At the event, the directors were in charge of stressing that the registration of Olmo and Pau Víctor is valid only until 31 December.

"Barça registered Olmo until December 31, as well as Pau Víctor. Íñigo Martínez is registered until June. They did it with a rule in force until now," Gómez began by explaining. "The first day that the economic control rules were approved, the clubs knew that there were three situations to arbitrate when there is no fair play: hiring a new coach after firing a coach, renewing a youth player at market level if he explodes and if a player is injured. These situations have been regulated over the years, in this case, due to injuries," continued the LaLiga executive.

The general director of the employers' association concluded his appearance by ensuring that the Barça entity has until the last day of the year to finalize the definitive registration of the Catalan midfielder.

"Barça have until December 31 to generate the part they are missing from Olmo, they don't have to reach 1:1, they can register him even if they are overpaid"

Barça are working 'against the clock' to resolve the Olmo file

As things stand, on January 1 both Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor will no longer appear registered in LaLiga if the Catalan club fails to register them. However, this scenario seems quite unlikely, since Barça have achieved a significant increase in the salary limit and are close to closing the renewal agreement with Nike, which will allow them to return to the 1/1 rule and balance the club's accounts.
