Alphonso Davies continues to ponder his future. His arrival at Barça is still possible, although his high salary demands complicate his signing

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The 'battle' for the signing of Alphonso Davies is heating up. The Canadian's contract ends at the end of the season and, although just days ago his renewal with Bayern Munich seemed practically assured, as of today there is nothing concrete and all avenues remain open, with FC Barcelona and Real Madrid still insisting on his signing.

However, the interest from the Madrid side has gradually cooled due to the player's high salary demands. Although the whites seemed well positioned in the race for the defender, from the upper echelons of Santiago Bernabéu they do not see the arrival of a Davies who has not prioritized the Madrid offer and whose demands exceed the economic expectations of the club.

For their part, the Catalans are keeping an eye on the American due to the need to strengthen a position where they only have Alejandro Balde as a reliable option. However, just like Madrid, the high salaries requested by the defender seriously jeopardize his signing as long as the 1/1 rule is not met.

Bayern hopes to renew Davies

According to 'The Athletic', Alphonso hopes to agree on his new contract for an amount close to 15 million euros gross plus a renewal bonus of another 15 'kilos'. An amount extremely inflated that only the Bavarians could reach, since if the Catalans or the Madrid side agree to pay it, their salary masses would be completely destabilized.

For this reason, in the offices of Allianz Arena, they are confident that they will be able to finalize the extension of the player's contract soon. From Davies' camp, they would assert that his future would be defined starting from February 2025, although, as of today, everything points to the defender continuing under Vincent Kompany's orders next season.
