The FC Barcelona could be receiving an economic benefit from the sale of an asset from which it definitively parted ways in 2023: Francisco Trincão. The Portuguese forward, who is having a remarkable 2024-25 season with Sporting Club de Portugal, tallying seven goals and 11 assists in 29 matches. Apparently, the Viana do Castelo native could be on the verge of leaving the Lisbon-based club, which would result in a significant benefit for the Catalan team, as it retains 50% of a future transfer.

In this regard, rumors from Italy suggest that a team from that country would be willing to make a substantial investment in Trincão during this winter market. The team in question would be AC Milan, which, as reported by the Italian newspaper 'Gazzetta dello Sport', would seek to finalize the forward's transfer soon.

The Italian newspaper maintains that the 'Rossoneri' team intends to advance in the negotiation, paying around 25 million euros plus additional goals. With this amount in mind, FC Barcelona could receive approximately 12.5 million euros, corresponding to the aforementioned 50%.

Furthermore, AC Milan has reportedly already initiated this operation and has established contacts with the player's agent, Jorge Mendes, to ensure the success of the transfer. This operation also seems to appeal to Trincão, who is a specific request of the Italian team's coach, Sergio Conceição, who values the need for another reliable winger to strengthen their attacking line.

Barcelona would recover a significant sum of what was invested in Trincão's signing

Speaking of FC Barcelona, if this transfer materializes and they ultimately receive the 12.5 million euros for Trincão, it would be an interesting operation from an economic standpoint. It's worth remembering that at the time, 31 million euros were paid for his transfer.

Now, when selling him to Sporting in 2023, 7.5 million euros were obtained. In addition, the 3 million euros that the Lisbon team paid for his loan in 2022 should be added. With these numbers in mind, the team from the Catalan capital would have received a total of 23 million euros for him.

Although Trincão did not succeed at Barça in sporting terms, from an economic point of view, it would be a rather attractive operation. Especially if Barcelona can use this income to explore signings in this winter market, if the club formalizes its entry into the 1/1 rule and can invest all the money received.
