LaLiga has given Barça an ultimatum to clean up its accounts. The club will not accept the contract with Nike until it is confirmed and has given the Blaugrana team until December 31 to balance its coffers
Time is running out for FC Barcelona. The Blaugrana club was hoping to return to the 1/1 rule this summer by renewing its contract with Nike, which would allow it to sign players normally. However, the agreement could not be closed before the end of the transfer market and everything points to the fact that the Blaugranas will have to wait until the end of the year to be able to balance their finances.
According to the newspaper 'AS', if the Blaugrana club does not carry out a large sale (Ronald Araújo and Frenkie de Jong could be the candidates) or the situation of Barça Studios is not resolved, whose debt was acquired by the catering company Aramark, the options of returning to financial normality and the aforementioned 1/1 rule are reduced to the maximum. LaLiga does not accept the 'draft' of the extension of Nike's sponsorship contract with the club until it is signed, so the Catalans will have to look for concrete alternatives.
From the offices of Spotify Camp Nou they tried to assert the contractual intentions of the North American multinational as a guarantee. The brand with the 'swoosh' sent a draft agreement (very juicy) to the Blaugrana institution, but it must still be worked out between both parties. However, while the details were being discussed to make the agreement a reality, the culés sent this promise of intentions to LaLiga with the aim of gaining oxygen in their coffers and facing the final stretch of the summer window normally.
LaLiga rejected the club's documents
Despite this, the employers' association does not accept draft contracts, considering that this would be like accepting future agreed sales of players on credit. Things can change at any moment and negotiations can break down at any moment, which is why LaLiga refused to receive the 'draft' of the Nike contract and will only take it into account when it is signed. The deadline is December 31, so the Blaugrana directors must rush their options.
