The market heats up: Bayern makes a strong move for Dean Huijsen and complicates things for Real Madrid

Talking about Dean Huijsen is to mention one of the most promising defenders in the global sports scene. Already an international with Spain after his debut with La Roja in the last FIFA date,  the defender has positioned himself on the radar of several major European clubs for the upcoming summer market.

With the outstanding season he is having at AFC Bournemouth under Andoni Iraola,  combined with an accessible release clause (60 M€) and attractive salary conditions (approximately 1.8 M€ gross annually), he has become a 'bargain' for any 'top' team. Adding to this is a very complete physical and technical profile: 1.97 meters tall, great aerial game, tactical intelligence to anticipate, aggression and precision in one-on-one situations, ambidexterity, good ball distribution from the back, and bravery to drive and break lines with long passes. All this, at just 19 years old.

Real Madrid keeps a close eye on Huijsen

In recent weeks, multiple reports have emerged linking Dean Huijsen with top-tier teams, with Real Madrid being one of the most interested. Although there is no total urgency from Chamartín, the truth is that the white team has suffered a genuine plague of injuries in their defense during the current season, which has forced them to rethink their defensive planning in the short and long term.

The Amsterdam native has the green light from the Madrid board as a potential leader for the defense of the future.  His characteristics fit perfectly with the type of defender that Real Madrid is looking for: young, technical, and with leadership ability.

Chelsea and Liverpool also want Huijsen

But the interest in Dean Huijsen is not limited to Spain. Several clubs from the 'Big Six' of the Premier League are also closely monitoring him. According to the British newspaper The Independent, both Chelsea and Liverpool are seriously considering his signing this summer.

The 'Blues' have reportedly taken a step forward to test the waters, while the 'Reds' are still waiting to decide whether to continue with Virgil van Dijk as their defensive reference, which coulddelay any significant movement from the Anfield side. Still, both teams recognize the enormous potential of the Spanish-Dutch defender.

Bayern Munich enters the scene and could ruin Madrid's plans

Now, a new and powerful competitor has joined the list of suitors for Dean Huijsen: Bayern Munich. According to the German outlet BILD, the Bavarian team has added the former Juventus player to their list of priority reinforcements for the next season.

This decision responds to the various defensive losses that the Germans have suffered, such as Hiroki Ito (fractured right metatarsal) and Dayot Upamecano (detected loose bodies in the left knee), which has left the Munich team without depth in a key position. Currently, Vincent Kompany only has Eric Dier and Kim Min-jae as options to strengthen that area.

With such a scenario, the emergence of Bayern Munich could give a new and interesting twist to the future of Dean Huijsen. The German team not only has the financial muscle to undertake a transaction for the defender, but also has an attractive sports project for a defender who is seen to have a very promising future.
